Kenneth Miller, longtime member of the Ferndale Library Board, has announced that he has resigned from the board effective April 1, 2008.
Commenting on his resignation, Miller said "It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Ferndale as a Trustee for the Ferndale Public Library. I’m so proud that I was allowed to be a part of a library board with the vision to see our library as a beacon of light--a place that draws our community together—and with the desire and determination to see that vision through. We have shown that together we as concerned citizens could create a state-of-the-art library, where all people can gather to enjoy both books and the arts. I am thankful that I could be part of such a major venture in my community’s life.”
Mayor Craig Covey suggests the city should do its own market study to see if there’s the market Wolfson claims for his new building. “The last thing we would want to do is go forwarded with a building and have it half empty.”
“I totally support the effort, but I think it will be a more difficult task than (it was making) Woodward Avenue (a Heritage Route),” Ferndale Mayor Craig Covey said.
