Residents will again get a chance to weigh in next week on whether a homeless counseling and services group can move its office into a wing of the First Baptist Church.
The city Board of Zoning Appeals has already made a controversial ruling that the nonprofit South Oakland Shelter was allowed to move to the church as an "accessory use" of the church's mission under zoning laws.
However, the question remains whether the city will grant a special land use permit to clear the way for SOS to move to the church on Pinecrest near Nine Mile and set up its offices and other services.
