The city's courthouse is finally in line to get a brand new building after years of operating out of a cramped former mattress outlet store.

A new two-story courthouse is planned to go up next year in front of the city police station on the east side of City Hall at 300 E. Nine Mile Road.

Ferndale Library Board Fills Open Seat PDF Print E-mail

On May 28, 2009, the Ferndale Library Board voted to appoint John Sterritt to fill the seat vacated by Kenneth J. Miller, who resigned in April, 2009.

"John has demonstrated a continued commitment to the library through his participation in the early Strategic Planning Sessions and his volunteer work on the Library’s Building Committee," said Ann Warner, acting Chair of the Board. "We look forward to working with him as we move forward through the renovation process and beyond."

Mr. Sterritt is looking forward to his new role with the Library, "I've been involved with the library rebuild since the visioning sessions, and I’m excited to have the chance to serve on the Library Board and help see the construction through to completion. The citizens of Ferndale have put their trust in the Library Board. It’s an honor to serve on it."

Mr. Sterritt was sworn into office by the Ferndale City Clerk on May 29, 2009.
